Kristin Koch

Kristin's love affair with interesting design began with the vintage
clothes her Eastern European grandmothers began giving her at the
tender age of twelve. One day she hopes to get it together to apply
for a Fulbright to study Eastern European folk costumes, but for now
she'll settle with being a designer in New York.

Influenced by eclectic prints, graphic design, the downtown New York scene, which she was immersed in while going to NYU, and streetwear, Kristin strives to be a pink cow in a sea of black on a daily basis. Her fashion icons include Beau Brummell, Annie Hall, Iris Apfel, Elsa Schiaparelli, Karen O and M.I.A..
Kristin spent four years at NYU studying design as an emerging fine art that affects us on a daily basis, taking independent studies in the Arts and Crafts movement and how Beau Brummell invented the suit. Interning at the Cooper-Hewitt Design Museum, she became influenced by designers like Marc Newson, Jason Miller, Tord Boontje, and Maria Cornejo. She fell in love with contemporary design and quickly realized it was the path she was meant to travel. She is now looking for a design position in a creative
environment.
